CLIMATE
Summer is from October through March, with the temperatures ranging from 15 degrees centigrade to 30 degrees centigrade at night and 25 degrees centigrade to
35 degrees centigrade during the day. The hottest months being November to February.
Winter is from April to October, the temperatures from 5 degrees centigrade to 10 degrees centigrade at night and 15
degrees centigrade to 30 degrees centigrade during the day. The coldest months being from May through August. The winter
months are when the hunting is done as it gets very hot in the summer and is very unpleasant to most. The rainfall season
is generally from the end of October to March.
MEDICAL
Umkwali Tented Bush Camp and 4x4 vehicles are equipped with basic first aid kits. Medical doctors are within easy reach in the towns near the reserves.
Although malaria has been controlled in recent years, it is recommended that anti-malaria precautions be commenced prior to departure. Please consult your personal physician.
